Dr. Apar Saoji, BNYS, PhD
Dr. Apar A Saoji, BNYS, PhD (Yoga), is a distinguished Senior Yoga and Naturopathy Consultant and serves as the Principal of The School of Yoga and Naturopathic Medicine at S-VYASA University, Bangalore. He attained the highest academic honors during his Bachelors in Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (BNYS) from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru. His doctoral research on the Psychophysiology of Yogic Breath Retention (Kumbhaka) was conducted at S-VYASA University, where he demonstrated exceptional scholarly prowess.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Saoji served as a Technical Consultant at the National Institute of Naturopathy, Pune. His passion for teaching and research led him to his current position at S-VYASA, where he also heads the MD program. Dr. Saoji has an impressive academic record with 20 peer-reviewed publications and numerous presentations at national and international conferences. He holds editorial positions in prestigious journals such as Advances in Integrative Medicine and Indian Journal of Yoga and Naturopathy, showcasing his expertise in the field.
Dr. Saoji's research interests focus on the application of Yoga and Naturopathy in health and disease, as well as understanding the underlying physiological mechanisms. He is a recognized PhD guide for both S-VYASA and AIIMS Rishikesh, and has served as an external moderator for the School of Natural Medicine at the University of Western Cape, South Africa. Dr. Saoji's dedication to spreading the knowledge of Yoga and Naturopathy has taken him to various countries, including Germany, France, Spain, Netherlands, and Austria. He has received numerous accolades for his academic excellence, including three gold medals, the Sitaram Jindal Award, and the Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade Pattabhisheka Award, reflecting his exceptional contributions to the field.
