Dr. Jayaraman Mahadevan, PhD
Dr. M Jayaraman, PhD in Sanskrit from the University of Madras, is currently serving as the Professor & Dean, Division of Yoga and Spirituality at SVYASA Deemed University. With a rich educational background, including traditional Gurukula education in Vedas, Vedanta, and Yogashastra, he brings extensive expertise to his role.
Previously, Dr. Jayaraman served as the Director of the Research Department at Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, Chennai, and as the Director of the Division of Textual Research in Yoga at Indic Academy. His notable contributions in the field of Textual aspects of Yoga include editing, translating, and disseminating inputs from traditional Sanskrit literature. He has published 23 books and 20 peer-reviewed journal articles on Yoga and Sanskrit literature in Indian and international research journals.
Currently involved in developing immersive learning methods for Yoga texts and digital repositories, Dr. Jayaraman is known for his contributions such as 'Yogasya Bhasha' and 'Yoga-vaisharadi.' His workshops on "Tantrayukti - Ancient Indian thesis/text construction methodology" have been well-received, and he served as a resource person for a nationwide faculty training program on IKS.
His expertise has been recognized by various academic and research organizations, leading to his nomination to prestigious academic boards and councils, including the Traditional Knowledge Digital Library-CSIR (Task force member - Yoga) and the Kalakshetra Foundation (Governing Board Member), Ministry of Culture, Govt of India, Chennai.
