Veronica Vallone, LMFT
Veronica holds Master's in Family Therapy from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She spent several years working with individuals, couples, families, and groups in a non-profit outpatient setting where she served as the Chief Resident Therapist. Veronica worked with clients of all ages on a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, chronic illness, and family discord with a focus on clients’ resiliency and deepening their sense of security and agency as they navigate life’s challenges. She then transitioned to MD Anderson Cancer Center, working exclusively with cancer survivors and those at high-risk of developing cancer. In her current role, Veronica specializes in supporting clients as they implement positive health changes, including adopting a plant-based diet, regular exercise, and establishing consistent mind-body practices. Clients work with a team to create these changes, including a yoga therapist, nutrition coach, and exercise coach, making these changes accessible to clients of all backgrounds, even those new to practices like yoga, pranayama, and meditation.
As a humanistic, client-centered therapist her approach is both trauma-informed and grounded in attachment theory. Veronica believes in empowering clients to define the ultimate goals of therapy, while also helping them explore the predictive models of themselves and others that they have developed through their family of origin and past experiences. Models such as Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy fit particularly well with this approach.
