Jayachandran Chandrasekaran, ME, C-IAYT

Mentor and Faculty

Over a decade ago, Jayachandran initiated his yoga journey, motivated by the pursuit of a solution for a persistent physical issue. As he encountered the transformative benefits of yoga—manifesting not only physically but also physiologically and psychologically—his commitment to the practice deepened.
In 2016, under the esteemed guidance of gurus Vishwarupa ji and Smitha ji, Jayachandran completed SVYASA - Houston’s 200-hour yoga teacher training course. Continuing his dedication to advancing his expertise, he obtained certification in KYTTC (Kids Yoga Teacher Training) in 2018 and completed a teacher training program on yoga for diabetes from the same institution.
Since June 2016, Jayachandran has been imparting yoga wisdom through classes held at various community centers and temples in Houston, TX. His commitment extends to volunteer work, leading events such as the Stop Diabetes Movement (SDM) conducted by VYASA since 2017 and organizing the Kids Yoga Camp annually since 2017 at SVYASA Houston. Since 2022, he has proudly served as a faculty member for the 200-hour Yoga Instructor Certificate Course (YICC) at SVYASA Houston.
In 2018, Jayachandran embarked on his Yoga therapy training certification (YTTC) journey, accumulating 1000 hours of theory and practicum at SVYASA Houston. He achieved his C-IAYT (Certified Yoga Therapist by the International Association of Yoga Therapists) certification in 2021. Expressing gratitude for the guidance of his teachers, he feels honored to share the light of his yoga journey with others.
Jayachandran's passion lies in continual learning and applying yoga knowledge to his daily life. He seizes every opportunity to teach and share his expertise, with a special focus on applying yoga to address issues like diabetes, sleep disorders, and teaching yoga to children. He aspires to channel his acquired knowledge for the benefit of friends, family, and communities.
