Why Yoga Matters for Children’s Development
Modern scientific research strongly supports yoga as a powerful tool for children’s physical, emotional, and cognitive development. SVYASA’s curriculum integrates asana, pranayama, relaxation, and yogic philosophy, giving children a complete system for all‑round personality development.
How Yoga Supports Children
Improved Focus & Academic Readiness: A study in Frontiers in Psychology (2019) found that school‑based yoga programs significantly improved attention, working memory, and classroom behavior in children.
Emotional Regulation & Stress Reduction: Harvard Medical School’s “Yoga for Children” review reports that breathing practices and mindfulness reduce anxiety, improve emotional control, and support mental well‑being.
Physical Strength, Balance & Posture: Research published in the International Journal of Yoga shows that yoga enhances flexibility, muscular strength, balance, and neuromuscular coordination in school‑aged children.
Resilience, Confidence & Character Building: A study in the Journal of Child and Family Studies found that yoga programs improve self‑esteem, emotional resilience, and social behavior, especially when combined with yogic values and philosophy.
Better Sleep & Relaxation: A National Institutes of Health (NIH) review notes that relaxation‑based yoga practices help children fall asleep faster and improve overall sleep quality.
Why Samskritam (Sanskrit) Is Valuable for Kids
Samskritam is one of the oldest and most structured languages in the world, known for its scientific grammar and clarity. Introducing it at a young age strengthens cognitive development and linguistic skills.
Benefits of Spoken Samskritam
- Boosts Memory & Logic, the language’s structure enhances analytical thinking
- Improves Pronunciation, children learn clarity and precision in speech
- Strengthens Language Learning, supports vocabulary and grammar in English and other languages
- Cultural Connection, children learn simple verses, words, and meanings in a joyful, conversational format
Samskritam sessions are interactive, using songs, games, and daily practice to make learning natural and enjoyable.
